Spin Class Kicked my you-know-what!

Workout: 20 min Pilates, 60 min spin class

Okay. Sooooo spin class today was crazier than normal.

I think it was because of my two-week hiatus from running/spin…but who knows?

All I know is that I am SORE. Like SUPER SORE. Which is awesome! Because for a few weeks I would go to spin and think to myself…why did I waste an hour of my life trying to get my heart rate to it’s “high” capacity when I should have just run my butt off until it was pink and puffy?

So, anyways, I think the trick with spin is to do it every other week to avoid that “used to” feeling in my body.

Breakfast today!

Apple, orange, coffee, and almonds (almonds not shown!).

Lunch: at my almost-favorite-place-ever next to Whole Foods!

Delish!

Dinner consisted of a chicken salad with tomato, grilled zucchini, cucumber, balsamic vinigar & oil, and chickpeas, with a bowl of pineapple on the side!

Joel and I are both kinda obsessed with buffalo sauce, so of course we had to include a side of that for the chicken!

YUUMMMMMM!

Stay strong!

What was YOUR workout today?

Where is your favorite place to go to lunch?

Are you into sweet or spicy?

Weekend Adventures…

I had a grrreat weekend! It started off with my beautiful sister driving down to So Cal to visit me!

Isn’t she a charmer?

I told her to smile like me…

We went to a restaurant in downtown Anaheim for happy hour (the best!). Honestly, Joel and I love this place. They have incredible food and INCREDIBLE service. The staff are beyond accommodating…they go out of their way to make every detail perfect!

Saturday consisted of teaching PILATES at my incredible church.

The Cause (my church) is doing a summer series on health and fitness! How awesome is that? They are offering multiple classes every other week (FREE!) like pilates, hiking (Joel is teaching that one!), Zumba, dance, MMA, bootcamp, juicing (not THAT kind of juicing), healthy families, and St. Jude is even teaching wellness classes! So far, we have had two sessions, and they have been extremely successful. I’m kinda proud of my hubby cause he helped organize it :)

Here’s an example of a power point teaching on health…

You can kinda/kinda not make it out…

Saturday night I played at a house show! My friend is going to Guatemala and she hosted a benefit concert to raise money for her efforts, and she asked me if I would play! Duh, of course I said umm yes please can we get Amy the viola player to play and you to do the drumming and me sing/ play guitar like a wannabe and make it a girl band? So we did. Unfortunately, because I was playing, I didn’t get any sweet pics of me swinging my guitar in the air, but I did get a pic of the lawn…

Sunday consisted of church and FOOD!

The hubster preaching it up:

Kind of a bad pic, but what-evs!

We walked around downtown Fullerton until we decided on some food.

The food part:

Such a healthy delicious salad from WAHOOS! I swear, it’s between wahoos and chipotle….okay, no, chipotle wins, but wahoo’s is next in line for SURE.

And of course, my beautiful sis and I…

Stay strong!

Bonjour!

First post ya’ll!

I can’t wait to share yummy recipes, workouts, and random orange county awesomeness with you!

A little bit about me…

I am twenty something, married to the amazing Joel, and graduated with my B.A. in English last year but do not use it whatsoever at my desk job.  I am a total foodie, so you will be seeing many recipes/recipe reviews, pics of food, and food ramblings!  If you don’t love healthy food,  my goal is to change your mind and help you find motivation and inspiration to begin your journey to health :)

I am addicted to Pilates and yoga, spin classes and treadmills, and pretty much every group X class at the gym, so you will also see a ton of workouts and fitness tips as well!

I have a background in disordered eating/bad body image, mostly attributed to my dedication to ballet that dominated my life until abut three years ago.  In the process of recovering from obsessive vanity (because, let’s be honest, that’s what it is!), I discovered the value of HOLISTIC health and wellness, and am now devoted to bringing mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health to my body and everyone else along the way!

Thanks for visiting :)
